How do I wash a crochet blanket?
This is a really large blanket that my grandmother crocheted and it really needs washed, but I'm afraid of ruining it. It's a cream color and has a lot of little stitches. How do I wash it? Also, the detergent I have is "Everyday Elegance - Tranquil Lavender"...a Wal-Mart brand. Will that do fine?
I have no idea what type of yarn it is : ( Is there any way for me to tell just by looking at it?
To be sure you really need to know what kind of yarn it is. If it is acrylic you will be fine just washing it on a gentle cycle and drying on low. It's it is wool, it needs to be dry cleaned or it will shrink
