What Colors and Textiles/Fabrics Were Frequently Used In Ancient Rome?

I'm an interior design student and have a final project where I have to take the example of the Ancient Roman Colosseum and create a modernized interior of it. I need to put modern/contemporary twists on it and I need to use more color than they did. Does anyone know what frequently used patterns were on fabrics/textiles and what colors were most often used besides the grays and bland neutrals? Any direction here will help greatly. Thanx!

The Romans loved Purple ... because purple dye was imported from the middle east (from a type of shellfish). Purple was the color of nobility for this reason.

Apart from that, red was used for the military.

As for architecture, the colors were often white. Marble was used, so ... imagine marble textures. Pottery was used and painted on.

The collection enjoys an infusion of new age cuts and constructions. Bottoms in knit with dropped crotches, small collars with thin ties, overalls in canvas and denim suits represent the new silhouettes which effortlessly blend from structured to relax. Modern and experimental with a twist, the collection through its various details like deconstruction, color blocking, textures and strong graphic prints reinforces the phenomena that are Hyper nature.

With the colour palette being the Black, white and grey with sharp accents of forest green, apple red and mist blues, their models will don a Tall, lean, trendy and confident look with loads of attitude. On questioning about the target buyers, they reiterates "In times of recession, everybody who is ready to buy" And what is the factor that can accelerate the growth of Indian fashion industry "We already tried and joined hands and decided that there would be one fashion week in Delhi- the 2 in Delhi have already become one. Wouldn't it be great if India has one unified fashion week? And the idea of other cities having their own fashion weeks for the publicity of certain sponsors is diluting the entire concept of the fashion week. The way they are springing up, you won't be surprised to hear a Bandra fashion week very soon. It's about time we get serious and not make a mockery of ourselves in front of the whole world.

The colour palette is in sync with the theme of the collection. While the red accentuates his victories over the world that celebrates his power, the other garments presented in whites and off-whites will showcase the need of purity in his life after the blood-spattered conquests. On the other hand, to offer a touch of luxury and glory to their collection, designers have highlighted that era of extravaganza with a tint of gold that strongly defines his personality as a king and an emperor.

Talking about the silhouettes, just like the collection presented by them in the S-S 2009, this time again the designers are all set to create the magic again with the draped structures. "The silhouettes are mainly hand draped with a deep sense and need for utility," emphasized Nikhil. The designers have managed to present this era in a strong mix of chenille yarns and threads which are turned into the luxurious range of fabrics. With an aim to present the mix of contemporary designs and vintage Indian sensibilities, it seems the collection has been targeted at young and trendy men who are ready to experiment with their look.
