Why isn't the sky purple with green stripes?

Well, why is isn't it? Why is it blue?

the sky is blue b/c when the light hits the atmosphere only the blue light is reflected back, thats why we see the blu. then the sun is on the set or rising its hitt the atmoshpere at a diffrent angle with respect to us, thats why we see the orange red's and purples.

it will always reflect a color in the white light spectrum

in this order "red, orange, yellow green blue indigo violet"
