If you are younger than I would say maybe put up some pictures of you and your friends in gold frames in a pattern on the wall. that would look good too.

I think area rugs are amazing and do a lot to a room. go buy a cheap gold or maroon rug and put it in the middle of the room for that "decorative" affect.

Put a nice desk in with a lamp that has gold shrills on the bottom of it.
